OOTD| New Look makes me happy

OOTD new look jumper-horzOOTD jumper close up

I realised the other day that it has been a long time since I’ve wrote an outfit related post so decided I would write one this week dedicated to a mini personal triumph. As you all know, I have lost a lot of weight over the past 9 months and am still losing it, so I am currently in a position whereby a lot of my clothes don’t fit! I went through a phase where I was super happy I was able to fit into clothes in my wardrobe that had previously been too tight, however even my old skinny clothes are starting to become loose, so I have flogged most of my old wardrobe and have been purchasing a few new items to make do until I reach the body that I want!

As I am only buying clothes while I am in between overweight Cat and perfect body Cat I don’t want to spend a load of money on clothes that in the next few months won’t fit so Primark and New Look have been my best friends. It is New Look who this post is dedicated to. Ever since I have lost weight I have obviously been feeling more confident in my body and have wanted to see what I look like in jeans. Jeans were previously a big no no for me. I always thought they were uncomfortable and unflattering for my curvy bum and short, stocky legs. However since I have a much smaller bum and more shapely legs I have been on the search for a flattering pair of jeans, and New Look had the answer.

A few weeks ago I was amazed to find that I could fit into a size 14 jeans!! I know sizes shouldn’t matter, but for a girl who not so long ago was buying a size 18, I was shocked to find that the 14 was very comfortable. The jeans are a high-waisted, skinny leg cut, so flattering for us short girls, and the denim is super soft making them very stretchy and comfortable. The best thing about the jeans is that they are only £22… a bargain! Plus they come in black, dark blue and burgundy. So come pay day I will be buying them in the other two colours.

As I am new to the world of jeans, I figured I also needed a new t-shirt to wear with my jeans so went for the t-shirt that I’m wearing underneath the blue jumper. It was priced at £8 (i think) and came in a variety of cute prints. I also impulse bought the jumper which was only £10. It' was super soft, stretchy and perfect for spring as it’s quite thin. Overall I walked out of New Look a very, very happy girl and am now in love with my new jeans.

Have you been buying your spring wardrobe yet? How do you rate the jeans form New Look? Are there any other jeans from high street stores that you recommend for us short girls?

Primark & New Look Haul

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I have been selling all my belongings on Ebay the past couple of weeks. I say all my belongings, I really mean all my “fat clothes.” As I have lost quite a bit of weight over the past few months, my clothes have been getting rather large for me, especially around my boobs! So as I have been quite successful on Ebay I decided to reward myself and go on a shopping spree!

It was great to go in a shop and not know what size I was, and in most of them I was pleasantly surprised!  Unfortunately, as always when I have money to spend I can never find something to buy, so my haul was smaller than I wanted it to be.

You can find what I bought in the video below, which for the first time is in HD! Yeah!

Have you got any tips about which shops have some great stock in at the moment? I really need some casual dresses, so any help is much appreciated!

Presents for myself| A Sales Haul

012002-horz078-horz

So again this post is late compared to all you other organised bloggers, but I’m going to do it anyways as I wanted to share with you what I bought myself this Christmas. I say that they are presents because my Christmas money went towards them, and a lot of it is actually stuff that was on my Christmas list but Santa forgot to bring me… not that I’m complaining as it’s always nice to treat yourself. I say treat myself, more like spoil… my bank balance is not looking great and it is mainly down to this haul and too much champagne over the Christmas period!

Anyways onto my buys. I did not venture onto the busy high-street to buy the above… there is no way you would find me fighting other people in queue to get into a shop the day after Christmas… no I am not one of those crazies that you see on the news. I am in fact a smug shopper who purchased all of the above without breaking a sweat and from the comfort of my office. Before I go on to my buys I have a little confession… the majority of what I bought was not in the sales… whoops! But everything I bought I have been lusting after for some time, so that’s my justification!

Stylist Pick provided me with the Luz Black Metal Detail Wedge which are perfect for work… even if they are a little higher than I imaged. These were my sale buy with the biggest discount with nearly 50% off, full price £38 sale price £20.

Asos did have a pretty good sale in which I bought more items for work, the Arrow and Stud Detail Waist Belt and Black and Gold Pumps, again both had around 50% off. The belt I bought a size smaller than what I normally would seems I’ve lost some weight, but it’s still a little tight so I won’t be wearing it till next month I image.

Debenhams was where I splurged and bought everything I have been lusting after for some time. I bought my first EVER Mac lipstick…yes you heard me right. You can expect a review on it very soon, along with multiple reviews on the rest of the gorgeous beauty buys I got from Debenhams. I bought Urban Decays Naked Palette 2 so I now have both… yeah! The Benefit set was the only product with a little money off, not much but enough to justify buying it. I had wanted to buy the Primer but thought I’d be better to buy a smaller version to see it I liked it first before I splashed the cash, so thought this set was perfect.

Many of you will recognise my final buy the infamous beauty blogger favourite; Muji Drawers! I have like many of you been eager to buy these for a long time, especially after buying some rubbish makeup storage this time last year. I needed something big enough to fit everything it, and something chic so thought the Muji Drawers were perfect! I bought 3 of the two drawer sets, a 9 compartment organiser and a pen pot for all my brushes.

Did you buy anything in the sales? Leave your links and I will check them out. What do you think of my buys?

Feeling Festive| Christmas Party FOTD and OOTD

IMG_3098-horz

So what does a girl wear to her Christmas party? Never mind that! What does a girl wear to her first Christmas party at a company where she is still trying to impress and make a good opinion? This was my dilemma last week. Usually I would be the first to whack on a tight dress, get my tanned legs out and put on my stiletto heels, but when I work in an office in a very rural location, where my nearest cocktail or champagne bar is at least 70 miles away, I had to second think my attire. I still wanted a look that was glam, but maybe not as sexy as I normally aim for.

I decided to based my outfit around my sparkly shoes from Moda In Pelle which I love with all my heart! Look how amazing they are! They were the pair I wore for my mum’s wedding, and I think they are perfect for the festive season. I paired it with a matching glittery clutch bag from TKMaxx.  After I chose my shoes and bag I was stuck; I have a million dresses in my wardrobe, even more so now I have lost a dress size, but couldn’t decided which one was appropriate. So like you probably all have done, I ended up sat amongst all my clothes after having a hissy fit about how “I don’t have anything to wear!” I know a little black dress would of looked great but I wear black dresses to work everyday, so wanted something with a bit more colour. So after trying on all of my dresses I finally settle on the above lilac one from H&M. at first I thought of it as a more summery dress; more fitting for a wedding. But after trying it with the shoes and bag I thought it was perfect; sophisticated, girly and festive!

My works Christmas Party was a great success. We all went to a local hotel to have an all expenses paid for dinner and drinks, plus a little disco. It was a nice change to see my work colleague outside of the office, and we all had a great night; Sunday was evidence of that! Lets just say I had a few too many glasses of wine!

What did you, or are you wearing to your Christmas Party this year? Anything sparkly like my shoes?

Scary Cat| My Halloween Look| FOTD & OOTD

uuuuu-horzdddd-horzhhh-horz

I don’t know about you, but I have never been a huge fan of fancy dress. I do love Halloween, but find that it is a little bit too Americanised now, and preferred it when the point of a Halloween costume was firstly for it to be Halloween related and secondly it was to scare someone. I’m all about the pumpkins, trick or treating, scary masks, claws, cobwebs and cloaks! This year I was invited to a Halloween party last Saturday night by my manger at work. I was a little unsure to begin with, but when she said that you had to dress up, and your costume had to be scary I was all for it. Now, I am a little unoriginal with my Halloween outfits, as I normally go as I cat as I can’t help but love the irony. I love when drunk people find it hilarious that I’m called Cat and I am a cat!

I decided to stick with what I know but wanted to scare my outfit up and make it a bit more dramatic. I had originally bought face paint and face crayons to decorate my face, but after practicing with them I found them very waxy and not very pigmented; consequently not creating the dramatic look I was after. I changed tactics and decided to buy the above makeup items to create my look. The Lipstick I have talked about here, and the eyeliner I already had. The lip liner was used to draw on cuts and scratches all over my body, and it was the perfect blood red. The eye-shadow is Boujois and was part of their Halloween collection and it’s amazing! I don’t know if I will wear it again soon, as it is a very pigmented and a very matte black. But it creates the perfect dramatic cat eye, and stayed  in place all night! The Boujois nail varnish was again very dramatic; it needed a few layers to build up colour, but once you did it looked great.

For my outfit I wore a black cocktail dress and tights which I ripped up. My hair I backcombed to the max and used a whole can of dry shampoo to turn it grey. Unfortunately you can’t see it too much in the pictures but believe me my hair was very tatty and grey! I actually woke up on Sunday morning and was rather confused by all the white dust all over the surfaces in my bedroom, it took me a while to realise the white dust was in fact the residue of my dry shampoo.

I admit my look isn’t the scariest ever, but I think I did a pretty good job. At the party and in town there was some great scary costumes, lots of very convincing zombies and vampires, along with Goth brides, Bettlejuice and Jimmy Saville (a little bit of bad taste, but we all knew someone would dress up as him).

What do you think of my look? What did/ are you dressing up as for Halloween?

OOTD| FOTD| Pre Wedding Dinner

I thought I would do a Face and Outfit Of The Day to show you what I wore for the night before my mums wedding this past weekend. I’m frantically trying to think if I could do an actual wedding day Outfit And Face Of The Day however I think I was so busy enjoying the day I didn't even take pictures of what I was wearing or what my makeup looked like… blogger fail!
Anyways back to the Friday. The Friday evening was a smart casual affair, where dinner and drinks were served at the hotel while we all mingled and got to know each other before the big day. I originally planned to wear a dusty pink dress to kick off the pink theme to the wedding and to match my Mum’s dress, however as much as I tried I did not find a dress I was completely happy with. In the end I spotted this teal number in the Dorothy Perkins sale. It is actually the same dress as another I had bought and worn previously (You can see it here) and as I knew it was a flattering fit and comfortable I chose to wear this for the Friday night instead. I paired the dress with my Louboutins which I received as a graduation present; its actually only the second time I have worn them as they are so precious, and my silver clutch and silver jewellery which I also wore on the wedding day.
For my face I decided to go for a dramatic smoky eye and nude lip as on the wedding day I wore a more natural look, so I wanted to create a contrast and dress my face up a little bit more. I created this look using my trusty Naked Palette, the same palette that the makeup artist on the Saturday actually complimented me upon, as she loves it just as much as us bloggers. I am wearing lash inserts in the above picture; I treated myself on the Thursday night as I didn’t want to have to be fiddling with fake eyelashes all weekend. I only got the two week occasional wear ones, but they are still going very strong and I am in love with them! It means getting ready in the morning takes about 10 minutes less as I don’t have to apply endless layers of mascara, and I am much more confident with out makeup as my eyes are very defined. I will be writing a review on them in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for that. I have been attempting to contour my face this past week, and although still a beginner I am enjoying the way it makes my face look.
I had a great night, as did many others judging by some of the sore heads in the morning, my boyfriend being one of them. However everyone had soon recovered come the ceremony, and the Friday evening allowed the wedding day to be more relaxed as the ice had already been broken the night before.
Are you are contouring pro? Could you give me some tips or recommend any products?

Weddings Days

Many of you will know after reading my blog that this past weekend has been the weekend of my Mum and her partner’s wedding. It was an amazing fun filled two day event, even if it was a little tiring. We are currently all sat around my mum and her new husbands house, eating Dominos in our PJ’s and looking through all the pictures, so I thought I would share some with you.

IMG_1276-tile
Friday night was an informal gathering and a chance for both sides of the family to meet and mingle. There was a lot of chatting, laughing and drinking going on, and with the help of my game of ‘Crazy Little Game Called Love’, a lot of scheming. The game is one I have come across through the hours I spend reading wedding blogs… I a woman obsessed. The game involves taking pictures of famous celebrity and royal bride and grooms and superimposing your own bride and grooms face in place of the famous star. The pictures turned out great, and were very humorous. The game itself brought out everyone’s competitive side especially when a drinks voucher was revealed as the prize, overall it proved a great ice breaker for everyone.
If the game itself didn’t break the ice, the sight of my Grandma having her head shaved by my mother, definitely did. My family has unfortunately been affected by breast cancer both now and in the past, so to help raise money for a cause both very close the our hearts and central to the wedding she decided she wanted to raise money by having her head shaved. No one was told beforehand, so it proved to be quite a shock to many, however she raised around £400 for charity, deeming it very successful. Everyone again did not know that Grandma has a beautiful wig that she wore for the Wedding day, so there was no bald bridesmaids running around, well at least not at the ceremony, it soon came off when the dancing started.
IMG_0786-tile
I only have a small selection of pictures of the ceremony, as I was too busy enjoying the day/carrying champagne and flowers around to take pictures, but you can see that pink was a strong theme in the wedding, as it is my mums favourite colour, and relates to the breast cancer charity. From the third picture you will see that shoes also played a big part, my mum wore hot pink stilettos on under her dress, and each bridesmaid had a different pair of sparkly shoes.
IMG_1371-tile
Many of the lovely guests who attended commented that it was the little details that made the day so spectacular, many of which were handmade by my mum and her willing helpers. Above are a selection of these little details along with the pictures I took while getting ready… seemingly the only free time I had.
*The hotel* *The view from my room* *Champers and cake for breakfast* *Hair clips* *OOTD-bridesmaid edition* *Curly bridesmaid hair* *Wedding favours* *Wedding Breakfast* *Assiette of deserts* *Wedding cake and flowers* Pink Wedding Popcakes* Curly hair 15 hours later*

I plan on posting another couple of wedding related posts, one with more of the wedding pictures, so you can gain a greater idea of the day. The other on the popcakes we baked and decorated for the guests. So keep checking back if you like cake or beautiful photographs.
Have any of you been to a wedding recently? What made the day extra special and stand out for you?

Spanish Sun| Holiday outfits

*Outfit 3- Dress- Dorothy Perkins, Sandals- Stylist Pick, Bag- Ebay*
*Outfit 4- Shorts- Primark, T-shirt- H&M, Sandals- Stylist Pick, Bag- Ebay*

As you may of read I was lucky enough recently to have been on a little holiday with my boyfriend and his parents, to their apartment in Eastern Spain. While we spent a good deal of time relaxing by the pool, sunbathing on the sun terrace, and having lazy boozy lunches, we still crammed in some culture and visited Valencia for a couple of days. I have not previously been before but have been eager to go as heard the old town was beautiful; which it was. However there is a great mix of old and new architecture around the city, so it was very picturesque and interesting. For those not into architecture and history, there was plenty of shopping and bars to keep yourself busy with.

The biggest challenge with this holiday was that I was only allowed to take hand luggage with me, as we did not pay for hold luggage, so cramming two weeks of clothes into the tinniest suitcase was a big ask. As you can see from the pictures above it did severely restrict my collection of shoes and bags, so much so I only took one handbag, and 3 pairs of shoes. The rest of my luggage consisted of 6 dresses, 1 playsuit, 2 t-shirts, 1 pair of shorts, and 3 bikinis, not forgetting my workout gear… yes I was good and still went running while on holiday! When I was on holiday I felt quite restricted to my outfit choices, however I have previously travelled Europe for a month with only a small backpack, so I should be used to it by now.

Outfits 1 to 3 are from when I was off out for dinner and drinks, so they are some of my dressed up looks while on holiday. Outfit 4 was my tourist outfit for wandering around the streets of Valencia… not much style just something cool and comfortable. I very rarely get dressed up on holiday and never really wear heels, I much prefer to keep it more casual, and with so many pretty sandals and wedges around I don’t feel the need to take my party heels with me. During the day as I mentioned I choose comfort over style... is that a crime for us bloggers? Especially if I am going to be wandering around a city for hours on end in 40c heat I would much prefer to be comfortable than sweating it out in a pretty ensemble.

So my question for you is, do you keep it stylish on holiday? Or do your take a break and keep it comfortable?

MTV’s VMA’s| The good, the bad and the ugly

Last night was a huge night for celebrities, press and fashion lovers everywhere. Not only was it Fashion Night Out, it was also the MTV Video Music Awards, which is always eventful. This year saw the reunion of Rihanna and Chris Brown, with them sharing a little kiss in front of all to see. However it is not the show that I am interested in, my guilty pleasure with award shows, which I guess I share with many of you, is to cast my critical eye upon the fashion on the red carpet. So I will share with you my pick of the good, the bad and the ugly.
the good
  • Emma Watson did us British girls proud, and showed up in a fun and flirty dress. Although the loud print is not something I would wear, I admire that she let the dress do the talking and kept accessories, hair and makeup to a minimal.
  • Demi Lovato was my favourite, she dressed down this sparkly cocktail dress with her studded leather jacket, but her dramatic red lips and long tumbling waves make her look smart enough to be walking the red carpet.
  • Miley Cyrus dressed to impress! Like Demi Lovato she channelled her inner rock chick. Miley's dress alone is beautiful, but her chose of accessories, and her dramatic quiff have made the dress more fun.
  • Katy Perry’s dress hugs her curves and gives us a glimpse of her legs, making her look like a vixen. I’m not one hundred per cent certain of the print, but no one can deny that she looks incredibly sexy. I think I am most in love with her hair and makeup choices, very glamourous.
the bad
  • Jessica Szohr’s outfit just looks a mess. I don’t really know where to begin, so I shall just say it all. In my opinion her top looks like it’s a piece of supportive shape-wear, the skirt it too casual, as are the trainers, and the headband is just wrong. This is not a red carpet suitable outfit.
  • Rihanna is a girl who’s outfits I either love of hate, and unfortunately I hate this one. If the dress did not have the knot detail on the front I think I would love it, but as it does Rihanna looks like she is wearing her bed sheet and is on her way to a toga party.
  • Rita Ora… oh dear! I admit the detailing on the jumpsuit is exquisite, but it is not flattering in the slightest. The girl has such a great body, she should be making the most of it.
  • Pink really disappointed me in this dress. Like Rita Ora she has an amazing body and yet she has covered every inch of it. I do actually love the dress; if only it showed more skin.
Nicki Minaj
I know Nikki Minaj is an obviously choice for a girl who gets it wrong, but she just can’t be avoided.  I agree her body is ridiculous… even if her bum does scare me a bit, but there is no need to show it off all the time. There is not one thing right with her ensemble, too tight, too many fabrics and textures and too much detail.
Do you agree with my picks? Or was there someone else who caught your eye? Let me know what you think!

One BBQ, Two Parties in One Night| OOTD

photophoto (2)-horz3eae203adee711e18bc0123138151366_7-horz
Dress- Dorothy Perkins
Shoes- New Look

Well I have had a busy weekend indeed! I visited Leeds which is the home city of my boyfriend. Normally we have a relaxing few days and catch up with his family and friends. However this was not the case this time, as we found ourselves being double booked. We had his Mum’s birthday BBQ and party, as well as his friends birthday night out; both on the Saturday night! So we had a bit of shuffling around to do… literally. We ended up spending the afternoon at his parents BBQ then going out to the bars in town in the evening with his friends, and then went back to his parents to finish off the partying. So at the end of it we were both very tried, and very drunk! It seems when you have two parties you end up drinking twice as much… my body was not thankful the next day!

I had a great weekend, regardless, but was very tired come Sunday night! I did also treat myself this weekend to a new iPhone! I have been due an upgrade for some time now, but being a busy student then worker I never got round to it, however now I have had it for 5 days I wouldn’t know what to do without it… I am in love with it! I am also completely addicted to Instagram now, as you can see from the Widget on the right hand side.

Anyways onto my outfit! I wore my new dress from Dorothy Perkins after I finally treated myself to a few sale items. The dress cost me only £10, down from around £32, and I think the cut is flattering and the colour screams summer, a great little bargain! I wore it with my blue New Look heels which I was originally going to wear at my graduation before I got my Louboutins. Again I love my shoes, they only cost £17 and have a very chunky heel. I wore them from 6 in the evening till about 3 in the morning, without any Party Feet and had no pressure or pain on the balls of my feet at all, so they are very comfortable.

What did you get up to this weekend? Did you have a relaxing one or a wild one?
P.S. Don’t forget, if you enjoy my blog, vote for me in the Cosmopolitan Magazine Blog Awards as Best Newcomer. It takes 30 seconds and a tick of a box but would mean the world to me…. Thanks!

A Glimmer of Sunshine| OOTD

photo (16)-horzphoto (18)-horzphoto (12)-horzphoto (22)-horz
Dress- H&M
Shirt- Primark
Bag-Zara
Shoes- Stylist Pick

Well as many of my fellow bloggers are talking and twittering none stop about the wonderful sunny days they are having, I am sat very sourly in the rainy and cloudy Lake District where we have only had one day of sun this week, and that was last Saturday. So firstly, it you would like to send the sun up here, then please do so. Secondly my post is from that one sunny day, when I actually managed to sport my new wedges which were bought six weeks ago and not been worn since!

So last Saturday was spent in Newcastle, and it was my last day in my last ever student house! End of an era! I spent the weekend moving my boyfriends stuff to his new house and cleaning our old flat. So obviously wasn’t sporting anything special during the day, more like sweats and rubber gloves. However in the evening we went to go see Batman at the MetroCentre (best film ever) and went for burgers afterwards, and I wore the above outfit.

The dress you will have seen recently from my holiday pictures from Finland, as I wore it often then as its very versatile, however it creases really easily, which is quite annoying. The shirt I wear as a cardigan, it doesn’t actually provide any warmth but I think it adds something extra to an outfit. I paired it all with my new wedges from Stylist Pick, which are very high, but surprisingly comfortable, and my once trusty Zara bag. I say once trusty as it is now falling apart. I am hugely disappointed as the straps on my Zara bag are now snapping slowly but surely, but I suppose after spending only £20 on a bag I can’t expect it to last. Has anyone else had this problem with theirs? As know at the time there was an abundance of bloggers purchasing this bag.

I hope you have enjoyed the sunshine where ever you are, and for however little it has stuck around. Did anyone else go see Batman over this past week?

Heavenly Heels| Bridesmaid shoes

128-tile111-tile

Firstly I apologise, I actually bought these shoes last weekend, but have been too busy to post about my weekend shopping. Yet I am still going to share it with you as I am in love with my new shoes! More shoes I hear you say… these ones, like my Graduation ones are essential as they are my bridesmaid shoes.
Last weekend, I visited Manchester with my Mum (the Bride) and the other 3 bridesmaids, of which I am the youngest. My mum has the most random bunch of bridesmaids in the world; her daughter, her mum, and her two friends. Not only do our ages vary, so does our body shape and fashion sense, so buying our outfits has been difficult. We have managed to settle for the same dress, however for shoes we decided that we would each have a different pair of shoes so we could reflect our our style. The only necessary being that they had to be sparkly.

Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of everyone else shoes, but of course I have plenty of pictures of mine. I must of looked for a pair in every shop in Manchester, and the only pair I loved were a pair of £400 Jimmy Choos, which my budget did not stretch to! Finally I stumbled into Moda in Pelle and found the pair pictured; despite them not being a silver sparkle, more a grey shade, my mum approved. Although I think she just wanted me to settle upon a pair and not leave Manchester empty handed. They are very high, but I love them, I just prey I can last all day in them at the wedding.

While we were at Manchester we had afternoon tea in Marks and Spencers, which was an absolute bargain and very yummy. While in Marks and Spencer we found this display of DIY bra’s by their staff. They had been asked to decorate a bra for Breast Cancer, and the Bra with the highest votes wins; voting was done by putting money into a collection box. I voted fro the Percy Pug bra, as I think its simply amazing, but the whole idea was a great effort by the store to help raise money.

Overall we had a great girly day, and I am very happy with my purchase. I just can’t wait till September so I can finally wear them!

What do you think of my bridesmaid shoes? Do your prefer more traditional shoes for weddings of something fun?

Graduation OOTD and FOTD

DSCF4761-horz

Dress- Next
Bag- Ebay
Shoes-Christian Louboutin

I thought I would share a picture of my outfit from graduation day, seems it took for what seems like months to find a dress I was happy with. I don’t know about you, but as it was such a big day, and a day I knew would be remembered in pictures for the rest of my life I actually felt some pressure to make sure I had an outfit that was obviously stylish, but also timeless, formal and ladylike. I wanted a dress that was of colour, as opposed to just black, as I wanted it to pop from beneath my graduation gown, but I didn’t want anything too bright. I decided upon a cream colour, but then this white one from from Next was the winner for me, out all the dresses I tired on. It had built in underdress, so smoothed out any lumps and bumps, and was a perfect length for me. Looking back at it know, I think it makes me look a little top heavy, but that something I often suffer from due to my body shape.

For my shoes I originally planned to wear a bright blue pair from New Look, but once I received my gift from my Mum and her partner I was obviously going to wear the Louboutins. I am totally in love with them, and am ever so grateful. I think they go great with the outfit as they make it more fun than if they shoes were a more conservative nude or black pair.

I chose a brown bag as knew it was going to be difficult to find a bag to perfectly match the colour of my originally planned shoes. In hindsight I recommend to anyone who is graduating , wear a clutch bag as opposed to a shoulder bag, as it was difficult to wear it over my robe when wandering around, and ended up giving it to my boyfriend to carry.

What did you wear for your graduation day? Something formal or something fun?

Graduate Girl| My Graduation

grad136-tile

Those of you who follow me on Twitter will know that I now have letters after my name and am a fully fledged graduate. I graduated from Northumbria University with an Upper Second Class degree in International Business Management; it took me long enough! I am very pleased to have graduated and have some very happy and sad memories from the years I spent studying both in Newcastle and France. I seem to have gone through it all with my studies, so am very relieved to be finished with this stage of my life.

I had a great day, and was a very lucky girl thanks to my ever so generous family. I received so many lovely things; seen above. I was never expecting such great gifts, but cherish every single one, and am happy that I can keep them all as mementos of my special day. I received various Pandora charms, vouchers, the biggest bunch of flowers ever, a Michael Kors rose gold watch, and my first ever pair of Louboutins! I am especially excited about my watch as I have wanted one ever since I first saw one; and obviously over the moon with my Louboutins. I had been joking for months saying I only wanted to graduate wearing a pair of Louboutins, but never in a million years expected to receive a pair.

The day of my graduation seems like such a whirl wind now, I don’t even remember certain things as there was so much to take in. It was a very stressful and overwhelming day, but I will run you through the general idea of my day.

My ceremony started in the morning at 10.30 am, so it was an early morning for me to make sure I was looking my best for it! After my ceremony I met various members of my family for photos, we then all had refreshments of Bucks Fizz and Cupcakes.  I then had professional pictures taken and made a quick stop back at my flat to have a cup of tea and rest; it was an extremely tiring day. I went for Lunch/Dinner in the afternoon at Gustos; one of my favourite restaurants on the Quayside in Newcastle. Dinner and drinks were gorgeous, as always, and it was great to sit down and take in the day as it went by vey quickly. After dinner my family left to travel back home, and my boyfriend took me to Malmasion to toast my achievement with some Champers. We spent some time there relaxing and celebrating then retired home.

Overall I had a lovely day, was lucky to celebrate it with family who spoilt me rotten; and both I and them are proud of my achievement.

I hope my followers and reader who have graduated this year enjoy their special day also.

A Day in the rain| OOTD

010015-horz005
Playsuit- NewLook
Cardigan- H&M
Belt-H&M

I’ve had a very busy weekend of moving my belongings back to the nest. Yes I have moved back in with my mum, as I start my new job on Monday, which is conveniently located 3 miles away. Thankfully I’m a lucky girl and my lovely mum had completely cleaned out my brothers old room and had reorganised and redecorated for my arrival. So what was once a smelly pit inhabited by a teenage boy, is now my cute and cosy bedroom.

Since I now live at my mothers, I am now located in the country and the beautiful Lake District, I’m about 5 miles away from Lake Windermere. So seems its my first of many lazy weekends with my boy we decided to go for lunch at Bowness-on-Windermere. Little did we know it would be completely chucking it down! Thankfully I was wearing my boots, so didn’t get too wet. The boyfriend however decided a hoodie and canvas pumps were suitable attire; so he did get wet.

We went to a little country pub, and had ice-cream at the lakeside for dessert, as its tradition in our family to get English Lakes Ice-cream whenever we are at Bowness-on-Windermere, come rain or shine! Due to all the rain the Lake was looking very full and there is a lot of flooding in Cumbria, thankfully I live on a hill so won’t be affected.

I chose a playsuit to wear as know it goes well with my boots. I bought it from NewLook to be worn on sunnier days as it is backless, but I have been wearing it with a vest underneath and a cardigan over the top seems the weather hasn’t been the best.

I have also received a lot of new followers recently, so hi to you all; old and new. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend despite the rain. I plan on spending the rest of it relaxing and blogging.

Fashion over Food| Haul

062-tile072-horz068-horz077-horz

I’ve actually had this post lined up for a while, as these are the clothes which I purchased for my holiday, so I bought them about three weeks ago. I literally got paid and then went straight into Newcastle city centre and spend half of my wage in about two hours…whoops! It felt amazing at the time… huge feeling of retail theropy, but within the next few days after bills started to come in I did regret it a little bit. But like I said to my boyfriend, I can’t go on holiday naked…I needed new clothes!

As I went on holiday to Finland and Lapland, I found shopping for holiday clothes more difficult than usual, and a little bit more boring, as some of the clothes were for activities such a hiking and rafting, not pretty bikinis for posing by the pool.. my normal holiday attire.

The three tank tops, hoodie and shorts that I bought were worn for hiking, so they were more practical buys than fashionable, but I still wanted to look a little bit cute. The bras were completely necessary! I swear these Wonderbras are the best bra you will ever buy. They are strapless but completely supportive, comfortable and give an amazing cleavage.

The more interesting buys were the denim dress, which is from H&M, it cost me about £20, so was cheap and can be worn with anything, dressed up and down. The pink dress was from River Island and was £25, it is quite low cut so I kept it for nights out in Helsinki, as its a bit more dressy, but you could dress it down with a cardigan and flats. The striped dress was from H&M again and is great for just throwing on with a cardigan, very comfortable and easy to style. Finally the white shirt was from Primark and was about £10, I actually wore it as a cardigan over the top of casual dresses, which made the outfit look more dressed up.

Overall I am impressed with the Spring and Summer collections in store at the moment. I was especially surprised at Primark, as normally I walk out of there empty handed.

Which stores are you loving at the moment? Have you bought you holiday clothes yet?

Sexy sandals from Stylist Pick

001002003004005

Hello ladies, I am back from my travels, and straight back to blogging. I had the most amazing time while I was away, and did so many wonderful things, but I will dedicated a post to my trip later. I firstly want to share with you my sexy new sandals from Stylist Pick. As followers of my blog will know I love Stylist Pick! Not only their products but the service they deliver, it is truly top notch, and I am all about high quality customer service.

Stylist Pick is a monthly subscription service of £39.95 (if I remember correctly), for which you receive a new pair of shoes of your choice each month. No girl can complain about getting new shoes each month! I ordered two pairs this month, as I didn’t buy any last month. I ordered them on the 1st of the month and they came right after the bank holiday… super quick!

I decided on a pair of wedges, as I currently don’t own a pair, and know they are a style staple every summer, so decided on a silver colour so I could wear them with pretty much anything. I haven’t worn them out the house yet, but from wandering around my house they are comfortable so far.
The flats I fell in love with. I love sandals and adore the bright colour jewels on the front of these, I think it makes them really stand out and makes them something special. These I took on my travels, and wore them a lot! They go with many different outfits due to the colour range on the sandal, and are comfortable. I admit you can’t trek for miles in them, but for lazy wanders around cities and the beach they are perfect.
I am going to spend the rest of my day packing up my house ready to move home, and catching up on blogs.

Which pair are your favourite? Have any of you bought anything from Stylist Pick? What do you think of these subscription services?

A walk in the park| OOTD

Dress- Asda
Cardigan- Tesco
Belt- H&M
Shoes- Primark
Bag-Zara

Long time no see! I have had a busy few weeks trying to organise my life. As many of you know who follow my Twitter (Follow Here) I have landed myself my first grown up, real, career starting job, no more waiting tables for me! I am becoming a marketing assistant but have the responsibility of setting up an in-house marketing department with the help of the director and manager of the company, along with the creation and implementation of the marketing strategies; big responsibility, but I’ve got many ideas and can’t wait to get started. I am obviously over the moon, however it is located back home in the Lake District, so I am having to move away from my boyfriend and the life I have built in Newcastle and back in with my Mum in rural Cumbria; its going to be a big change. I am also off travelling Finland and Lapland next week, so am trying to squeeze everything in my backpack for then, which is always a struggle as I am not a girl who packs lightly.

Amongst all this excitement I have had the chance to spend some quality time with my boy. One of the evenings being the one featured in this post. We decided to go for dinner at an Italian in Jesmond in Newcastle, and as it was a gorgeous evening took a long walk in the park on the way there. To say people were making the most of the weather was an understatement, the park was full of people, but its great seeing families and friends spending time together.]

For the evening I chose to throw on this quite smart dress, which is from Asda. I have worn it previously for presentations at university, as it is formal yet quite fashion forward with it being midi length, yet it is still very comfortable. I decided to dress it down by wearing canvas ballerina pumps, a cardigan and my trusty Zara bag.

I hope you have been keeping well while I have been absent from my blog.
